Assistant Assembly Manager

Maitland, Florida


The Assistant Assembly Manager role is primarily focused on the strategic planning of daily and weekly production objectives as set by all three channels. This role also reports necessary data used for cost of labor, scheduling, and efficiency tracking to the Assembly Manager. This role reports to the Assembly Manager.
  • Create and communicate a daily plan for a team of Assembly Associates and leaders who oversee multiple facets of assembly across multiple shifts as directed by the Assembly Manager
  • Plans days, weeks, and months in advance as orders come in through multiple sales channels to create the most effective timeline for completion and delivery
  • Determine most effective use of labor force by planning for future sales as needed under guidance of Assembly Manager
  • Gather and communicate data such as assembly goals, hours to complete, allocation of personnel, and more to leadership across multiple shifts
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain teams to coordinate arrival of product to meet workload requirements
  • Coordinate with Sales Teams regarding ship dates, product availability, and any necessary revisions
  • Utilize project management software to organize orders by due dates and product availability
  • Delegate creation of assembly travelers, print, and organize by ship date
  • Address any discrepancies discovered during product transfer to holding areas
  • Communicate with Fulfillment Team in regards to any backorders for product and provide a production timeline for delivery
  • Create and revise procedures for data driven analysis of product demand
  • Participate in employee development by providing coaching, feedback, and corrective action, i.e. P.I.P. & performance reviews, as needed
  • Write the weekly Assembly schedule and submit to the Assembly Manager for final approval ensuring the appropriate number of Assembly hours are scheduled
  • Foster a positive working environment and a cooperative team dynamic throughout the Supply Chain
  • Complete additional duties and projects as assigned by the Assembly Manager
Skills & Requirements
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • SAP Business One experience a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Excellent written & verbal skills
  • Positive and outgoing with a solutions-oriented attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines using well developed prioritization skills
  • Ability to be flexible and change priorities as needed
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy while working quickly and efficiently
