I bought 8 of these placemats. They are gorgeous and fit perfectly in our dining room. They are not laminated but have a matte surface with shiny gold paint. But a month later the gold paint is wiping off (I only wipe with a damp cloth as directed).

So easy to clean. I spray and wipe. I love cork backing placements because I can write and not damage my table. I find fabric placemats to need an iron after washing so cork is my go to.
