This is a pretty pattern and a fun idea, but the new US passport doesn't fit. The internal flaps can be stretched to (barely) accommodate the firm exterior pages of the passport, but I was worried I'd snap the passport or tear the holder. I definitely won't remove it again unless I have to. So super tight horizontally, but way too loose vertically. It slides around up and down a ton and ends up crooked in the holder. For such a purpose-built item, it doesn't work well at all. Plasticky material is also a letdown.

They should work with real leather.
