The blanket traps your body heat very efficiently and quickly, Planes can be surprisingly cold. However, you must stay by your washing machine when you wash this blanket because the cloth soaks up lots of water in the rinse cycle. This throws the washing machine off balance. It is necessary to stop the machine and reposition the blanket in the tub. I have no idea how a front loading machine would perform in this situation. The blanket washes well. I would buy this product again. It is suitable to give as a gift to someone planning to travel.
